Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026. Applies to the MSRX Drive desktop app (formerly "MSRX Orion Drive").
Short version. MSRX Drive runs entirely on your computer. MSRX operates no server for it, so no file, file name, account detail or usage record is ever sent to MSRX. Data from your Google account goes only between your computer and Google.
1. Who we are
MSRX Drive is made by MSRX, a brand of Mrinal Singh Raja, an individual based in Bengaluru, India ("MSRX", "we"). Contact: mrinalsinghraja@gmail.com.
2. What the app accesses, and why
When you connect a Google account, MSRX Drive asks Google for these permissions:
- Google Drive (
.../auth/drive) — to list, preview, search, upload, download, rename, copy, move, star-filter, trash, restore and permanently delete the files and folders in your Drive, including files shared with you and shared drives, when you ask the app to. - Email address (
userinfo.email) — to label the account in the sidebar and Settings. - Basic profile (
userinfo.profile) — to show your name and initials on the account.
The app also reads your Google Drive storage usage to show the storage bar. On your computer, it opens only the folders you choose in the system's folder picker (such as Desktop, Documents or iCloud Drive) and the Downloads folder.
3. Where your data goes
- Requests go straight from the app on your computer to Google's servers over HTTPS. Nothing passes through any MSRX server, because there is none.
- Your Google sign-in token is stored in the macOS Keychain, marked to stay on this device and not to sync.
- The list of connected accounts (account ID, name, email, storage figures) and your app preferences are stored in the app's own settings on your computer.
- When you preview a Drive file, a copy is placed in the app's temporary folder so the system can display it. These copies are removed after 24 hours, or immediately with Settings, General, Clear Now.
- Thumbnails are kept in memory only while the app is running.
- Files you download or upload go only where you tell the app to put them.
4. What we do not do
- No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code of any kind.
- We do not sell, rent, share or transfer your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data, or any data received from Google APIs, to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- No person at MSRX can read your files or account data.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
MSRX Drive's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing file management features described above, is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features at your request, and is not used for advertising.
6. Keeping it secure
Sign-in uses Google's OAuth with PKCE and a state check, inside a private browser session that shares no cookies with your web browser. All traffic to Google is encrypted. The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox and can only reach the folders you have granted.
7. Removing your data
- Sign out (right-click the account in the sidebar, or Settings, Accounts): the app asks Google to revoke its access and deletes the stored sign-in from your Keychain.
- You can also remove access from Google's side at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Deleting the app removes its settings and temporary files along with it. Your files in Google Drive and on your computer are never changed by signing out or deleting the app.
Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side; we cannot see or recover it.
8. Children
MSRX Drive is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Google accounts for children are governed by Google's own rules.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. If a change would affect how Google user data is used, the app will ask for your consent first.
10. Law and contact
This policy is governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions or complaints: mrinalsinghraja@gmail.com.
